Who we are.

This privacy policy covers Fountain Place Company Limited (“Fountain Place”, “we”, “us”, “our”), 250 Don Park Road, Suite 8, Markham, Ontario L3R 2V1. It applies to this website, fountainplace.ca, and to personal information we collect when you call, email or work with us.

We handle personal information in line with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). Our sister company, Fountain Depot (fountaindepot.com), runs its own website and has its own privacy policy.

What we collect.

Information you give us. When you use our quote request form, we collect your name, organization, email address, phone number, city or site location, the type of property, the service you need, your message and any photos you upload. When you call, email or hire us, we keep the details you share, such as site addresses, access instructions, contacts on site, service history and billing details.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our site and its service providers record technical information such as your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you visit, the page that referred you and the date and time of your visit. Some of this is collected through cookies (see below).

We do not collect payment card information on this website.

How we use it.

We use personal information to respond to your request; arrange site visits and inspections; prepare quotes, contracts and invoices; schedule and carry out maintenance, repair, restoration and installation work; keep service records for your fountain or pond; follow up on work we have done; and meet our legal, tax and insurance obligations.

We also use summary website information to understand how the site is used, keep it secure and improve it, and to measure and improve our online advertising.

We use your information only for the purposes we collected it for, or as permitted or required by law. If we want to use it for a new purpose, we will ask for your consent first.

Consent.

By sending the quote form or giving us your information, you consent to us using it as described in this policy. You can withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us, subject to legal or contractual limits. If you withdraw consent, we may not be able to provide some services.

We send commercial electronic messages (for example, service reminders or seasonal offers) only in line with Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). Every such message includes a way to unsubscribe.

Who we share it with.

We do not sell, rent or trade personal information.

We share personal information only with service providers who help us run our business, and only as much as they need. These include our website host; our customer relationship management system (GoHighLevel), which receives quote form submissions; our email delivery provider; our accounting software; and Google, which provides website analytics and advertising measurement. These providers may process information outside Ontario and outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be accessible to authorities under local law. We require them to protect it.

Where a job needs it, we may share site and contact details with our sister company Fountain Depot (for parts and equipment) or with subcontractors working on your project. We may also disclose information where the law requires it.

Cookies and analytics.

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies. Some are needed for the site to work and to protect it from spam and attacks. Others come from Google: Google Analytics, which helps us understand how visitors use the site, and Google Ads, which helps us measure the results of our advertising and may be used to show our ads to people who have visited the site.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and the site will still work. You can also opt out of Google Analytics with Google’s browser add-on (tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout) and manage personalized ads at adssettings.google.com.

How we protect it.

We use reasonable physical, organizational and technical safeguards to protect personal information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) on this website, password-protected systems with limited staff access, and reputable service providers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify you and the Privacy Commissioner of Canada of any breach where the law requires it.

How long we keep it.

We keep quote requests and correspondence for as long as needed to respond and follow up. We keep customer, service and financial records for as long as needed to serve you and to meet legal, tax and insurance requirements, at least six years for financial records, as the Canada Revenue Agency requires. When we no longer need information, we delete or anonymize it securely.

Your rights.

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask how it has been used or shared. You can also withdraw your consent or ask us to stop sending you messages. Contact us at ryan@fountainplace.ca or 1-877-752-1222. We will respond within 30 days.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca.
