Symptoms we fix

Common Kasco and motor problems

  • Overheating and shutdowns
  • Noise or vibration
  • Low pressure or inconsistent flow
  • Electrical failures and wiring faults
  • Clogged or damaged impellers
  • Breakers tripping from cable leakage

Tripping breakers are often a cable problem, not a motor problem. On one long cable run, we measured the leakage with a milliamp reader and traced it to a small leak in the quick disconnect, after several other shops had failed to find it.

Other brands

Not a Kasco? We likely service it.

We provide full service for Kasco Marine fountains and de-icers, Aqua Master and Aqua Control. We also test and maintain Otterbine, Airolator, AirMax, OASE and Arbrux units.

Our certified motor technicians have specialized training, and the motor test facility is in our own Markham shop. That keeps units moving through instead of waiting on an outside shop.

FAQ

Kasco service questions

Do you come to the site to service Kasco units?

Yes. For commercial, municipal and golf course ponds we troubleshoot on site, remove the unit, repair it in our shop and reinstall it.

I’m a homeowner. Where do I send my Kasco?

Drop it off or ship it to Fountain Depot’s Kasco repair centre in Markham. It offers a free diagnostic estimate and a 90-day warranty on parts and labour.

Why does my Kasco keep tripping the breaker?

Usually current is leaking from the cable, a splice or the quick disconnect. Over 5 milliamps trips the panel’s safety controls, so we measure leakage along the cable to find the fault.

What oil goes back into the motor?

We refill with 10,000-hour dielectric oil after the used oil is disposed of to regulation, and replace the seals, O-rings and gaskets.

Do you service brands other than Kasco?

Yes. We fully service Aqua Master and Aqua Control, and test and maintain Otterbine, Airolator, AirMax, OASE and Arbrux units.

Do you service Kasco de-icers too?

Yes. Kasco de-icers and circulators go through the same motor shop. See winter de-icing.

Can you remove our fountain for the winter?

Yes. As part of a fall closing we remove floating fountains, service them and reinstall them in spring.
