Who designs and builds commercial fountains in Ontario?
Fountain Place designs and builds commercial, municipal and estate fountains across Ontario. Owner and lead designer Ryan Trollope studied system and environmental design for commercial water features, and our mechanical, electrical and operations specialists build and commission each system as one team. The same crew can then maintain it.
We have installed fountains for municipal plazas, parks, condos, offices, hospitals, estates and private gardens.

From idea to commissioned fountain

Site evaluation
We look at the site, layout, power, drainage and how people will use the space.

Design and engineering
We design the feature and engineer its mechanical, electrical and automation systems.

Build
Our crew builds the structure and installs pumps, filtration, controls and lighting.

Commission
We start and balance the system, then deliver commissioning reports and as-built drawings.

Train and maintain
We train your staff, provide maintenance documents and offer a maintenance program.
About
I really enjoy the whole process of the water fountain industry, from design and installation to maintenance and sales of the specialty equipment.
Our designer
Designed by someone who also maintains them
Ryan built residential water features early in his career. After engineering studies, he studied under Richard Van Seters in system and environmental design for commercial water features, and has worked on landmark water features in Ontario and abroad.
He joined Fountain Place in 2007 as lead designer and installation and restoration contractor, and became owner and operator in 2013. Because we also maintain what we build, designs are made to be serviced.

What types of fountains do you build?

Do you build residential water features?
Yes. We build for estates and private gardens as well as plazas, parks, condos, offices and hospitals.
Do you handle the mechanical and electrical design?
Yes. Our mechanical, electrical and operations specialists work as one team, from engineering through commissioning.
What do we receive at handover?
Commissioning reports, as-built drawings, maintenance documents and training for the staff who will run the fountain.
Can you maintain the fountain after it’s built?
Yes. We offer maintenance programs, plus spring start-ups and fall closings.
Can you supply equipment to our landscape contractor?
Yes. Our sister company Fountain Depot supplies commercial fountain equipment, and we can advise on the build.
Can a new fountain be built over underground parking?
Yes. We built a 2,400 sq ft infinity-edge fountain over two parking levels for a Toronto condominium, with structural insulation to reduce slab load and engineered waterproofing.
